Funding opportunities

The Circulatory Disorders Research Fund

 

A collaboration between Founding Member Organisations (including the SA Renal Society) and Donor Companies. Funds of up to R1000 000 are available to research units or individuals. Any original clinical, basic science or epidemiological research related to atherosclerosis will be considered. Applications can be made twice per year with the following closing dates:

1 March for July awards and 1 August for December awards.

The Roche Foundation for Anemia Research (RoFAR)

 

Funded by an unrestricted grant from Roche, it aims to ‘encourage innovative research that will open new avenues of exploration in the study of anemia’. Awards of up to €130000 are made, with 2 cycles of application per year. Research should focus on one of the following areas:

• Anaemia of chronic disease
• Anaemia related to congestive heart failure and stroke
• Effects of erythropoietin and erythropoietin-like substances as protective drugs in various target organs
• Biology of anaemia and outcomes
